creating script

This is a rough draft of our script which the character will have to use to assist them to play their part within the film.

When creating a script the main aim is to make eat verse is organised and labelled with the characters name this prevent confusion to occur.
This however doesn't mean the characters will follow the script. the script is only used for a brief indicator to prompt the characters to remember there key lines.

Media script (Common room scene)

(Kyle walks into the common room as Kaylah and Rory is doing work and smiles)
Kyle: are yous alight
Kaylah: Yeah, Hiya
Rory: yes Kyle
(They fist bump)
Kyle: What are you lot doing?
Kaylah: Just some history
Kyle: Oh, what’s it about?
Kaylah: It’s about the school (she sighs and pulls face)
Kyle: School? (Looks surprised)
Kaylah: Yeah… (Sighs and pulls face again)
Rory: SO you wanna know the things we found about the school
Kyle: Yeah
Kaylah: Yeah...
Rory:  You sure?... (Raises his eyebrows and looks Kyle and Kaylah’s faces directly in his face)

Kyle: Yeah
Rory: Ok, So 100 years ago before the school was built there was a family who lived on the grounds and one night men broke into the ground and murdered the family and it is sed that the ghost of the young girl haunts the school till this day trying to seek revenge, this school is crazy man I can’t wait to leave sixth form.
Kaylah: (pulls face once again gets up ) I don’t believe you Rory I’m going to the toilet
(Kaylah leave end enters into the second scene which is within the bathroom)

Within the script as you can see there are different language features such as
Informal language - This is represented with the use of slang e.g. Sed, Wanna, Yeah. This is used within this film because it fits in with the setting of the film which is within a school  and the characters within the film which are teenagers. The use of slang allows the characters and the younger audiences to create a relationship because they are use to the informal language used within society
Ellipsis (...) - This is used within the script to elongate speech. This relates to Kaylah because she uses This term quite a lot  because she is maybe unsure in what to say. Rory also uses Ellipsis when asking some of his questions "You Sure ..." this indicates that he is giving Kaylah and Kyle a change to rethink there decision
Punctuation - This is also important because it allows the characters to know there pauses which will allow then to speak clearly and with different effects e.g. If someone was going to shout The punctuation will use capital letters and an explanation mark which emphasises the action of shouting (YEAH!)

research of short movie horror scripts

Before my group and I could begin the create the script for our blog we had to research into how to write a script and what was needed to design a well presented script.
A script is a key stept to step guide which aids the cast to aknowledge their lines and when they are meant to be said.
() ,", *italics*, - these are key punctuations which are commonly found within scripts, this help indidcate expression which is need to create effect for the film e.g SHUT UP!) THIS SHOWS this indicats to the actor needs to raise there voice which is show by the capital letters and exclimation mark at the end which help portray the characters feeling e.g angry and aggressive

This is the script from  the film ALONE IN THE DARK  written and directed by Elan Mastai and Michael Roesch.  Who highlights the structure and also the punctuation needed which I can adopt into our script
