Evidence of creating my Horror Poster
- I firstly started with a blank international A4 paper in Photoshop and coloured the background black which was going to be the base of my poster.
- Then I inserted my eye image and began to use a brush took to blend the eye into the background this help create the effect that the eye was going to pop out of the screen which I found most effective.
- By changing the edge of the brush and changing the opacity and the flow I was able to alter different aspects of the eye as some sides needed more blending than others to get an equal amount of blending. Also by using the graphics tablet I was able to pinpoint exactly which areas needed blending which helped my accuracy.
- I also the used the Ellipse tool to draw a circle over the eye in order to create the devilish red effect over it. I then used Filters to change the shade and opacity of the red which helped create a spooky effect
- I then began to focus on the title "OMINOUS" which was another important section of my work. I made it bigger and used a dark shade of red then my previous draft
- I then focused on the fonts of the casting list at the bottom of the page, I began to use different fonts such as (Onyx) for the cast names and ( Tw cent MT condensed) for the smaller detailed texts , this helped highlight key information and by using the colour white it would help distinguish the information from the eye and the master head
- By using film company sponsors it highlight to audiences that the film is going to be interested as the reputation of the companies are profound
Differences between my old and my new Horror posters
In my first horror film poster creation I did use a style model which was very similar to my final piece and it didn't aid me to show off the skills which I was capable of. I did use a good variety of skills and equipment such as the graphics tablet and also the paining tool which did help me increase my own skills and knowledge of creating a horror film.
However, in my new poster I did keep the concept of an eye which represents someone always watching over who however I changed the layout and also the made my main image and masthead bigger this was used to create suspense for the readers . I also used different tools such as the layer filter tool which helped change the effect of the red pupil within the eye image used. this has strengthened my understanding of the subjects and the different programs

By looking at my previous draft I can see a huge
transformation as it has helped displayed my skills I have gained throughout my
time studying media studies at AS and A2
